I'm often hired at a moment I've come to think of as The Pivot, which is that moment a big decision needs to be made, or a pressure is being applied that needs responding to, or a growth spurt is taking place that needs attention.

My purpose is helping to clarify that moment through smart brand strategy and good design.

Helping organizations discover a deeper purpose and look good while doing it, too.

For the past 18 years, the core of my work has revolved around helping organizations discover why they exist, beyond what they make, sell, or say, and then expressing those discoveries through compelling, modern visual stories. By infusing these discoveries with values of purpose, brands can more easily and authentically connect with their audience. Makes for better stories, better design, and stronger brand allegiance.

With experience at the design director level managing multi-disciplinary teams but having worked through the ranks of design roles from production to executive leader, I feel comfortable taking on complex projects equally as a soloist or team collaborator. I hold the process of creative thinking to design execution in highest regard, and believe good design genuinely improves the world.

Though I’ve designed for some of the world’s biggest retail brands, working for nonprofits and government organizations has been a consistent aspect to the work I do, as well. Projects include many Pacific Northwest nonprofit organizations in Oregon and Washington, as well as work at the national level with both the U.S. government and national organizations.

In addition to my design and brand work, I currently serve on the board of directors at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology as board Vice President and have played leadership roles on committees and tasks force teams to both govern and steward this excellent organization approaching it’s half century mark.
